Alemayehu Seyoum Taffesse holds a D.Phil. degree in Economics from the University of Oxford. He has served as president of the Ethiopian Economics Association (2010-2017) and is currently vice chair of the Africa Region Standing Committee of the Econometric Society (2017-2020). Alemayehu has been selected as an Agricultural Role Model in 2015 by the Modernizing African Food Systems (MAFS) Consortium. As a development economist, he has published three books (two co-edited), 23 scientific journal articles, 13 book chapters, 27 discussion papers, and 16 reports.
