The Ethiopian Academy of Sciences (EAS) has recently entered into a grant agreement with the Austria Embassy to empower emerging young and female researchers by improving their knowledge and skills in efficiently managing research projects.
The agreement signed by H.E. Dr. Simone Knapp, Austrian ambassador to Ethiopia, and Prof. Teketel Yohannes, the Executive Director of the EAS.
This grant aims to enhance the capacity of female researchers in conducting gender and social inclusion research, thereby fostering a more inclusive and equitable research environment. This training program will empower women to actively participate in research activities and contribute valuable insights to the field. By supporting the professional development of female researchers, we are taking a significant step towards promoting diversity and equality in research.
By offering training in project cycle management and research communication, researchers will acquire essential skills and knowledge that can enhance research outcomes, foster collaboration, and increase overall impact. Additionally, establishing a network of researchers to mentor, support, and motivate one another will further contribute to their professional development and success.
Through this partnership, the EAS and the Austrian Embassy are committed to empowering women researchers in the field of gender and social inclusion.
