Berhanu Erko is Professor of Medical Parasitology at Aklilu Lemma Institute of Pathobiology, Addis Ababa University. He has significantly contributed to research on schistosomiasis, soil-transmitted helminthiasis, emerging human fascioliasis, and malaria in Ethiopia. He has served at different times as the Unit Head of Medical Parasitology and Deputy Director of Aklilu Lemma Institute of Pathobiology, and Program Officer for neglected tropical diseases for UN Millennium Villages in sub-Saharan African countries. He has published extensively.
