His Eminence Cardinal Berhaneyesus, of the Catholic Church of Ethiopia, recently visited the Ethiopian Academy of Sciences (#EAS) Headquarters to discuss potential partnerships.

Prof. Teketel Yohannes, the Executive Director of EAS and other EAS staff, warmly welcomed the Cardinal Berhaneyesus and his team.
During the meeting, Prof. Teketel provided a presentation about the history of the EAS, its objectives, and various projects that the Academy has been undertaking. He also elaborated on the activities of the Academy in the areas of population, gender mainstreaming, capacity development of Applied Universities in Ethiopia and so on.
He mentioned about the consensus studies, panel discussions and monthly public lectures that were organized by the Academy. Prof. Teketel also underscored the successful collaborations the Academy has with national, regional and international organizations.
His Eminence Cardinal Berhaneyesus and his team visited the EAS Centers (Creative Art Center, STEM center, Science Exhibits press products and Botanic garden) and praised the Academy’s effort to advance the knowledge of young people, children and general public in the fields of science and technology.
Finally, both parties agreed to collaborate and work towards their common goals. They recognized the enormous synergy and positive impact that could be achieved through collaboration.
