Getnet Assefa is a lead researcher on feed resources and animal nutrition at Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR). He has a PhD in Animal Nutrition and Feed Resource Production/Management from Humboldt University, Germany. He has served as the livestock research director of the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research. He is a recipient of the Lead Researcher Award in livestock research by the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research in 2017 and the National Award of Science, Technology and Innovation by the Ministry of Science and Technology for improved poultry breeds under Ethiopian condition.
