Shimelis Adamssie is Professor of Physical Chemistry at AAU. Currently, he is the Director of Materials Science Program at AAU. He served the university in various administrative capacities. He was a visiting scientist at several universities. He is an Associate Editor of the Bulletin of the Chemical Society of Ethiopia. He has published extensively on the application of conducting polymers and biopolymers for use in solar organic cells, electrochemical energy storages and sensors.
