Asrat Hailu is Professor of Immunoparasitology at the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Parasitology at AAU. At AAU, he also served as Director of Research; and as Acting Associate Vice President for Research & Graduate Programs. He served as Head of the Leishmaniasis Research at Aklilu Lemma Institute of Pathobiology. He established the Leishmaniasis Research & Diagnostic Laboratory and is founding member of the Leishmaniasis East Africa Platform. He has published extensively.
