Dawit Alemu is an Agricultural Economist currently serving as the Country Representative of Stichting Wageningen Research Ethiopia, the Ethiopian office of Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands. He previously served as (i) Manager of the Bilateral Ethiopia-Netherlands Effort for Food, Income and Trade (BENEFIT) Program, (ii) Senior Researcher and Director of the Agricultural Economics, Extension, and Gender Research Program at the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR), and (iii) Senior Research Officer at the Ethiopia Strategy Support Program of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). Dawit also managed major projects such as the Farmers’ Research Group (FRG) and EthioRice Projects, both supported by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
