Alemayehu Teferra is Professor of Civil Engineering at AAU. He has served as President of AAU and as member and Vice Chairperson of the Executive Board of UNESCO. He has published articles, two textbooks and a reference handbook. He is the recipient of silver medal from UNESCO and a Plaque from the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He was a senior Fulbright scholar at the UC, Berkeley.
