Kibret Mequanint, a Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering and the School of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, is a globally recognized figure in the field of vascular biomaterials and tissue engineering. His research in biomaterials, drug delivery, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine has been published in over 200 research articles in leading and premier journals. He has also delivered more than 100 invited talks at major international conferences and research institutions. He is an inducted fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering , the Canadian Academy of Engineering, the Ethiopian Academy of Sciences, the International Union of Societies for Biomaterials Science and Engineering, and the European Alliance for Innovation.
