Eyualem Abebe is the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Fort Valley State University, GA, USA. He held a similar leadership role at Eastern Florida State College, was a Marshal A. Rausch Endowed Distinguished Professor, and is recipient of Elizabeth City State University Chancellor’s Legacy Award and University System of North Carolina Board of Governors’ Teacher of the Year Award. A globally recognized nematologist and organismal biologist specializing in aquatic systems, he has mentored over 60 undergraduate and graduate students, championed academic retention efforts, discovered 28 new species, published extensively, and serves as an editor, reviewer, and research advisor. He is a founding member of the Alliance for Research, Innovation and Education.
