Legesse Negash had been a fulltime faculty member of Addis Ababa University, College of Natural & Computational Sciences, Dept of Plant Biol. & Biodiv. Management. He has published extensively in national and international science journals, authored three books and numerous book chapters, travelled extensively and presented in diverse international fora, and served as the Editor in-Chief of SINET: Ethiop. J. Sci. Legesse has won many competitive grants and awards from diverse national, regional and international funding agencies, including those from the Addis Ababa University, International Foundation for Science, SIDA/SAREC of Sweden, the Third World Academy of Sciences, African Academy of Sciences, and the UK-based 100% Fund. Legesse is the founder of the Center for Native Trees Propagation and Biodiversity Development in Ethiopia.
