Berga Lemaga has over 34 years of post-PhD experience in agricultural research and development and 26 years in leading regional initiatives, networks and projects. He led the International Potato Center (CIP)-Country Offices in Uganda and Ethiopia. He made a significant impact on improving potato and sweetpotato research and development in Eastern and Central Africa. He co-established the CIP-Ethiopia office in 2009 and the Ethiopia-Chapter of Open Forum on Agricultural Biotechnology in Africa in 2014. He served as an International Advisor for the World Potato Congress, advised/co-advised MSc and PhD students and won several awards from renowned national and regional organizations.
