Prof. Ketema Bacha Bedanie

Prof. Ketema Bacha earned his BSc Degree (in Biology), MSc, and PhD Degree (in Applied Microbiology) from Addis Ababa University. He conducted his postdoctoral research at the Institute of Microbiology, Kiel University, Germany. He received training on Food Management at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment, Israel. With a keen research interest in the areas of Food Safety, Microbiology of Ethiopian traditional fermented foods and beverages, Probiotics, Microbial drug resistance, and Microbial enzymes from extreme environments, he has authored and co-authored more than 70 research papers in international and peer-reviewed national journals. He has supervised over 50 MSc Theses and 13 PhD Dissertations. Prof. Ketema Bacha is Professor of Food Microbiology at Jimma University.
