Tenalem Ayenew is Professor of Hydro-geology at AAU on a joint appointment basis at Beles Engineering PLC. He is member of the National Steering Committee for the water resources development projects of Ethiopia. He has served as General Secretary of the Ethiopian Hydrogeologists Association. He is member of the Ethiopian Geoscience and Mineral Engineering Association and the International Association of Hydrogeologists. He has published extensively.
