Zenebe Melaku is the Country Director of ICAP Columbia University Program Ethiopia and Associate Research Scientist at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, New York, USA. He has MD degree (with Gold Medal) and a specialty certificate in internal medicine from Addis Ababa University. He won Fellowships from the University of Limoges, France and from the University of Bergen, Norway. He served as an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at Addis Ababa University, and as Hospital Medical Director, Head of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology Unit of the Department of Internal Medicine at AAU, Secretary of the Association of Neurological Sciences of Ethiopia, Chairperson of the Scientific Committee of Ethiopian Medical Association, and in advisory roles for the Federal Ministry of Health, and Federal HIV Prevention and Control Office. He is a member of the International AIDS Society and World Federation of Neurology. He is the recipient of a Gold Medal from the Federal Ministry of Health and Best Clinician Award from the African Society of Laboratory Medicine. He has published widely in the area of Neurology, Rheumatology and HIV/AIDS.
