Demissie Habte is Professor of Paediatrics and former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, AAU. He has extensive publications on child health, medical education, and public health. He is the recipient of the Rosen von Rosenstein Medal of the Swedish Paediatric Society, Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences, and Honorary Fellow of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He was Health Specialist for the African Region at the World Bank in Washington and Founding International Director of the James P. Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University, Bangladesh.
