Daniel Asrat is Associate Professor of Medical Microbiology at AAU. He obtained his PhD (2003) in Medical Microbiology from Addis Ababa University. He has served as lecturer, researcher and consultant for 20 years and as adjunct professor at Ohio State University, USA. In the past, he served AAU in various capacities and committees. He is a recipient of the gold medal award “Eminent Scientist of the year 2007 in Medical Microbiology from Africa” conferred by the World Scientists Forum and International Research Promotion Council, and Certificate of Recognition for dedicated academic service. He is actively involved in national and international collaborative research projects and e-capacity building. He has published 73 research articles in the area of Medical Microbiology.
