Getachew Abebe is Professor of Veterinary Medicine. He served as FAO Avian Influenza National Technical Officer and contributed to the development of the National Strategic Preparedness and Response Plan for the Avian Influenza; as President of the Ethiopian Veterinary Association; and as Member of Technical Advisory Committee, Southern Rift Valley Tsetse Eradication Project. He is recipient of Gold Medal Award from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, AAU. He has published extensively.
