Gebru Tareke is Professor Emeritus at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, New York. He served as Head of the Department of History and Director of Third World Studies Program at Hobart and William Smith Colleges; and as Director of the Institute of Ethiopian Studies at AAU. He has published extensively and is author of important books on Ethiopian History such as: The Ethiopian Revolution: War in the Horn of Africa and Ethiopia: Power and Protest, Peasant Revolts in the Twentieth Century.
