Mohammed Abdo is Professor of Electrical Engineering at Addis Ababa University (AAU). He obtained his PhD in Electrical Engineering (Communication Eng.) from the University of Duisburg, Germany (1994). He has served AAU as Associate Dean of the Faculty of Technology (currently Addis Ababa Institute of Technology) and Head of Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He spearheaded the establishment of the AAU-Cisco Networking Regional Academy in 2004. Prof. Mohammed is recipient of fellowships and research awards from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). He has authored and co-authored many publications in his research area in peer-reviewed national and international journals and conference proceedings. He also served as chairperson of the electro-technology technical committee of the Ethiopian Quality and Standards Authority and an active member of the National Industry, Science and Technology Council of the Ethiopian Science and Technology Commission.
